BEFORE TRUMP DID IT, I PREDICTED IT: THE ULTIMATE WAY TO COMBAT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

In Bureaucracy, History, Law, Law Enforcement, Politics, Social commentary on May 12, 2025 at 12:10 am

Back in 2010, while Barack Obama was President, I predicted what could happen if a future President launched an all-out attack on illegal immigrants.

Under President Donald Trump, that prediction is now becoming reality.

There are now an estimated 11 to 20 million illegal aliens living in the United States. Deporting them to their native countries wouldn’t end America’s illegal immigration crisis.

Most illegals come from neighboring Hispanic countries. As soon as they are deported, most of them cross the Mexican border again.

More importantly: The governments of Central and South American countries use the United States as a dumping ground of those citizens who might demand reforms in their political and economic institutions—and lead revolts if those demands are unmet.

But one approach could drastically reverse that reality. It might well be called “The Zanti Option.”

Viewers of the 1960s sci-fi series, The Outer Limits, will vividly recall its 1963 episode, “The Zanti Misfits.”

In this, soldiers at an American Army base in a California ghost town nervously await first-contact with an alien race that has landed a space ship nearby.

The soldiers are warned to steer clear of the ship, and they do. But then an escaped convict (Bruce Dern, in an early role) happens upon the scene—and the ship.

The Zantis, enraged, emerge—and soon the soldiers at the military base find themselves under attack.

A “Zanti”

The soldiers desperately fight back—with flamethrowers, machineguns or just rifle butts. Finally the soldiers wipe out the Zantis.

But now the base—and probably America—faces a wholesale invasion from the planet Zanti to avenge the deaths of their comrades.

So the soldiers wait anxiously for their next transmission from Zanti—which soon arrives.

To their surprise—and relief—it’s a message of thanks: “We will not retaliate. We never intended to. We knew that you could not live with such aliens in your midst.

“It was always our intention that you destroy them…We are incapable of executing our own species, but you are not. You are practiced executioners. We thank you.”

Illegal aliens invading the United States

Immigration—especially illegal immigration—has become an increasingly volatile issue within the United States. This is especially true as the country continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and supply housing, food and jobs to its own citizens.

Instead of deporting them to Central American countries—from which they will easily sneak back into the United States—the Federal Government could ship them off to more distant lands.

Such a policy change would:

  1. Close the Mexican revolving door, which keeps illegal immigration flowing; and
  2. Send an unmistakably blunt message to other would-be illegals: “The same fate awaits you.”

Although this might seem a far-fetched proposal, it has already started being carried out by the United States Air Force. According to its website: “The C-5 Galaxy is one of the largest aircraft in the world and the largest airlifter in the Air Force inventory.

“The C-5 has a greater capacity than any other airlifter. It [can] carry 36 standard pallets and 81 troops simultaneously.

C-5 transport plane

“[It can also carry] any of the Army’s air-transportable combat equipment, including such bulky items as the 74-ton mobile scissors bridge.

“It can also carry outsize and oversize cargo over intercontinental ranges and can take off or land in relatively short distances.”

The C-5 Galaxy’s maximum cargo weight: 281,001 pounds

Instead of being stuffed with cargo, these planes could be stuffed wall-to-wall with illegal aliens.

The United States Air Force has a proud history of successfully providing America’s soldiers—and allies—with the supplies they need.

From June 24, 1948 to May 12, 1949, only the Berlin Airlift stood between German citizens and starvation.

The Soviet Union had blocked the railway, road, and canal access to the Berlin sectors under allied control. Their goal: Force the western powers to allow the Soviet zone to supply Berlin with food, fuel and aid.

This would have given the Soviets control over the entire city.

Air forces from the United States, England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa flew over 200,000 flights in one year, dropping more than 4,700 tons of necessities daily to the besieged Berliners.

The success of the Berlin Airlift raised American prestige and embarrassed the Soviets, who lifted the blockade.

The Berlin Airlift

A similar triumph came during the Yom Kippur War after Egypt and Syria attacked Israel without warning on October 6, 1973.

For 32 days, the Air Force shipped 22,325 tons of ammunition, artillery, tanks and other supplies to Israel. These proved invaluable in saving that country from destruction.

Under President Donald Trump, the mass deportation of millions of illegal aliens has become a top priority.

He has reached a $6 million agreement with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele to imprison deportees the administration says are members of the Venezuelan gangs Tren de Aragua and MS-13.

Trump is trying to reach similar agreements with the governments of a half-dozen other countries. Among these: Libya, Rwanda, Panama, Costa Rica, Cuba, Honduras and Mexico.

Unless the courts overrule him, the United States will soon have a full-fledged Berlin Airlift program for illegal aliens.

THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO COMBAT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Suppose the Federal Government could identify and arrest all or most of the estimated 11 to 20 million illegal aliens now living in the United States. Would deporting them to their native countries solve America’s illegal immigration crisis?

Hardly.

More importantly: The governments of Central and South American countries use the United States as a dumping ground—of those citizens who might demand reforms in their political and economic institutions.

“It was always our intention that you destroy them…We are incapable of executing our own species, but you are not. You are practiced executioners. We thank you.”

Meanwhile, on May 11, 2023, the Biden administration scrapped Title 42, a Trump-era public health order issued in 2020 during the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under this, 2.4 illegal aliens had been expelled from the southern border.

Illegal aliens invading the United States

The rapid nature of the expulsions—usually taking place within hours—sharply curtailed access to asylum regulations.

Immigration—especially illegal immigration—has become an increasingly volatile issue within the United States. This is especially true as the country continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and supply housing, food and jobs to its own citizens.

But even without Title 42, there is a way for the United States to effectively deal with unwanted illegal aliens:

Instead of deporting them to Central American countries—from which they will easily sneak back into the United States—the Federal Government can ship them off to more distant lands.

Like Afghanistan.

Or Iraq.

Or Syria.

Such a policy change would:

  1. Close the Mexican revolving door, which keeps illegal immigration flowing; and

A SCI-FI SOLUTION TO END ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

In Bureaucracy, History, Law, Law Enforcement, Military, Politics, Social commentary on September 25, 2023 at 12:08 am

The governments of Central and South American countries use the United States as a dumping ground—of those citizens who might demand reforms in their political and economic institutions.

As a result, America is facing an invasion of illegal aliens which is overwhelming its schools, hospitals and housing.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR): “As of June 2023, FAIR estimates that approximately 16.8 million illegal aliens reside in the United States. This is significantly higher than our January 2022 illegal alien population estimate of 15.5 million.”

In New York City, for example, the arrival of more than 100,000 illegals since spring 2022 has overtaxed shelters and forced the city to house people in tents.

With more than 60,000 illegals in the city’s care, Mayor Eric Adams has made an unprecedented decision: The city will stop sheltering single adults after two months, and thousands will start being evicted on September 23.

“Never was it envisioned that this would be an unlimited universal right or obligation on the city to have to house literally [the] entire world,” said New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration refuses to treat this onslaught for what it is: An invasion.

But one approach could strike a meaningful blow against illegal immigration. And it might well be called “The Zanti Option.”

In 1980, Cuba shipped thousands of hardened criminals to the United States via the Mariel Boatlift.

The United States should feel similarly free to deport those who violate its immigration laws.

Illegal aliens invading the United States

Homeland Security officials predict that 10,000 migrants will try to cross into the American. every day when Title 42 expires on May 11.

This was a 2020 policy that allowed American authorities to swiftly expel migrants at the southern border to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Border communities have voiced concerns about their ability to absorb large numbers of migrants. Several cities in Texas recently issued emergency declarations.

One of these, El Paso, already has about 2,300 migrants living on the streets around two shelters downtown. Some aid organizations fear they won’t be able  to help everyone if that number grows.

The Biden administration is threatening to deport aliens who cross the border illegally.

Yet even when illegal aliens are deported, many of them simply sneak back into the country. Francisco Oropesa Perez-Torres, who murdered five of his Texas neighbors on April 28, had been deported four times before once again sneaking in.

There is a difference between immigration and invasion. And the United States is now facing the latter at its southern border.

So: Is there a way to close this constantly revolving door through which Hispanic aliens thumb their noses at American sovereignty?

Yes, there is.

Rather than deport them to countries in Central America—from which they would easily sneak back into the United States—the Federal Government could ship them off to more distant lands.

Meanwhile, the United States braces itself for a real-life onslaught of tens of thousands—if not millions—of aliens.

Illegal aliens invading the United States

The reason: On December 16, a federal appeals court denied a request by 19 Republican states to continue a Trump-era public health order to expel migrants immediately at the border.

Known as Title 42, the policy began in 2020, during the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has since been used to expel 2.4.million aliens from the southern border.

The rapid nature of the expulsions—usually taking place within hours—sharply curtail access to asylum regulations.

On December 19, Chief Justice John Roberts, responding to an appeal by 19 states, temporarily blocked an order that would lift Title 42 while the Court considers an emergency request to keep the measure in place.

If Title 42 is overturned, there is an even more drastic step that a Republican President could take in combating illegal immigration.

Rather than deport them to countries in Central America—from which they would easily sneak back into the United States—the Federal Government could ship them off to more distant lands.

IS TRUMP PLANNING A “FINAL SOLUTION” TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION?

In Bureaucracy, History, Law, Law Enforcement, Military, Politics, Social commentary on July 11, 2019 at 12:05 am

“Our Border Patrol people are not hospital workers, doctors or nurses. The Democrats bad Immigration Laws, which could be easily fixed, are the problem. Great job by Border Patrol, above and beyond. Many of these illegals (sic) aliens are living far better now than where they came from, and in far safer conditions.”

So wrote President Donald Trump in a July 3 series of tweets—days after Democratic members of the House of Representatives toured two Texas border facilities for would-be immigrants. They described squalid conditions, overcrowded facilities and thinly stretched resources.

One of those inspectors, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said that officers at the El Paso Customs and Border Protection facility told migrant women to drink out of toilets. Another woman said guards woke them at odd hours and called them whores.

Even the Department of Homeland Security proved highly critical, finding:

  • Unannounced inspections of Border Patrol facilities confirmed extreme overcrowding.
  • Children younger than seven were being held in custody for more than two weeks—far more than the allotted 72 hours.
  • They weren’t being provided with soap, toothbrushes or toothpaste.
  • Lacking hot meals and ready access to showers and a change of clothes, they slept on concrete floors under then Mylar thermal blankets.

For Trump, however, the solution was easy: “If Illegal Immigrants are unhappy with the conditions in the quickly built or refitted detentions centers, just tell them not to come. All problems solved!”

Illegal alien families held in cages

Since taking office, Trump has claimed there’s “a crisis at our southern border.” He meant that that the United States was being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal aliens. And, initially, most of the public agreed with him.

But, recently, as a result of the torrent of bad publicity focused on these detention facilities, public opinion has started to change: Yes, there is a crisis at the border—and the fault lies with Trump, not with the would-be migrants.

For Trump, halting illegal immigration is a make-or-break issue. His base—which is the only group of Americans he cares about—has made it clear: Stop the illegals—or be a one-term President.

At the same time, the issue of illegal immigration has not disappeared. In May, Border Patrol agents arrested more than 144,000 migrants. With available holding facilities overwhelmed, news stories soon appeared highlighting brutal conditions therein.

With more bad publicity certain to come in the months leading up to the 2020 Presidential election, Trump will be desperate to make it go away.

So it’s possible he could take an even more drastic step in his all-out war on illegal immigration.

Rather than deport them to countries in Central America—from which they would easily sneak back into the United States—the Federal Government could ship them off to more distant lands.

Like Afghanistan. Or Iraq. Or Syria.

Such a policy change would:

  1. Close the Mexican revolving door, which keeps illegal immigration flowing; and
  2. Warn other would-be illegals: “The same fate awaits you.”
  3. Remove the shipped-out migrants from the prying eyes of American reporters and members of Congress.

Although this might seem a far-fetched proposal, it could be easily carried out by the United States Air Force.

According to its website: “The C-5 Galaxy is one of the largest aircraft in the world and the largest airlifter in the Air Force inventory.

“The C-5 has a greater capacity than any other airlifter. It [can] carry 36 standard pallets and 81 troops simultaneously.

On May 7, 2018, United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a “zero-tolerance” policy for illegal entry into the United States:

“If you smuggle illegal aliens across our border, then we will prosecute you. If you are smuggling a child, then we will prosecute you and that child will be separated from you as required by law.”

In the past, those arrested while illegally entering the country were held in immigration detention and sent before an immigration judge. The judge decided if they would be deported as unauthorized immigrants.

Most first-time offenders didn’t serve time in prison. If they pleaded guilty, they were sentenced, within minutes, to time served—and deported.

But illegal aliens referred for criminal prosecution were sent to a Federal jail. Several weeks later, a Federal judge determined if they would be imprisoned. And those in Federal jail cannot be kept with their children.

With the change in policy, all arrested illegal aliens would face criminal prosecution.

On June 15, Homeland Security officials confirmed to reporters that, from April 19 to May 31, 1,995 children were separated from 1,940 adults at the U.S.-Mexico border. These adults were referred for prosecution after illegally crossing the border.

Video images showed illegal alien children held behind chain-link cages. Children crying. An audio recording made secretly captured children calling for their mothers and fathers.

A national uproar followed.

Democrats almost unanimously attacked the family-separation policy, while Republicans were divided over it.

On June 20, the family-separation policy was indefinitely suspended by a Presidential executive order.

Still, illegal aliens from Latin and Central America keep pouring into the country—or getting caught while trying to.

The U.S. Border Patrol arrested more than 16,500 family members in September, marking an 80% increase from July—and a new one-month record. The Department of Homeland Security states that agents took 107,212 members of “family units” into custody during fiscal 2018.

And, even now, a caravan of 3,000-4,000 migrants from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala is heading toward “El Norte.” Its members claim they are fleeing poverty and violence—and assert that the United States has a moral duty to take them in.

President Donald Trump has threatened to cut all aid payments to the three countries if they don’t prevent their citizens from crossing into the United States. And he has also threatened to use military force to completely close the US-Mexico border.

For Trump, halting illegal immigration is a make-or-break issue. His base—which is the only group of Americans he cares about—has made it clear: Stop the illegals—or be a one-term President.

So it’s possible he could take an even more drastic step his all-out war on illegal immigration.

Rather than deport them to countries in Central America—from which they would easily sneak back into the United States—the Federal Government could ship them off to more distant lands.

Like Afghanistan. Or Iraq. Or Syria.

Such a policy change would:

  1. Close the Mexican revolving door, which keeps illegal immigration flowing; and
  2. Send an unmistakably blunt message to other would-be illegals: “The same fate awaits you.”

C-5 transport plane

“[It can also carry] any of the Army’s air-transportable combat equipment, including such bulky items as the 74-ton mobile scissors bridge.”

Their goal: Force the western powers to allow the Soviet zone to supply Berlin with food, fuel, and aid.

A Watergate-embattled President Richard Nixon ordered “Operation Nickel Grass” to deliver urgently-needed weapons and supplies to Israel.

For 32 days, the Air Force shipped 22,325 tons of ammunition, artillery, tanks and other supplies.  These proved invaluable in saving Israel from destruction.

So the mass deportation of millions of illegal aliens lies within America’s technological capability.

The only uncertainty: Is Trump willing to give that order?

A “BERLIN AIRLIFT” IN REVERSE FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS?

Over the weekend of June 16-17, Democrats almost unanimously attacked the “zero-tolerance” policy, while Republicans were divided over it.

What both Republican supporters and opponents of the policy had in common was the fear of being voted out of office—and losing their cushy and powerful positions.

Those who supported President Donald Trump feared he would order his Fascistic base to vote them out of office in the mid-term elections in November. Those who opposed Trump feared being voted out of office by overwhelming numbers of voters enraged by the policy.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration doubled-down. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said officials wouldn’t apologize for enforcing immigration laws that result in the separation of children and parents.

And on June 19, Trump tweeted: “Democrats are the problem. They don’t care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how bad they may be, to pour into and infest our Country, like MS-13. They can’t win on their terrible policies, so they view them as potential voters!”

At this time, the fate of the family-separation policy remains uncertain.

If it is overturned, there is an even more drastic step that Trump might well take in his all-out war on illegal immigration.

Rather than deport them to countries in Central America—from which they would easily sneak back into the United States—the Federal Government could ship them off to more distant lands.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION? LET THE AIR FORCE HANDLE IT

In Bureaucracy, History, Law, Military, Politics, Social commentary on May 4, 2018 at 12:09 am

Republican Presidential candidates like Donald Trump, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum have long demanded an end to illegal immigration.

Their, now  chief proposed solution: Wholesale deportation of millions of illegal aliens from the United States.

But even if Trump, now President, dared to take such a politically controversial step, could it actually succeed?

Suppose the Federal Government could identify and arrest all or most of the estimated 11 to 20 million illegal aliens now living in the United States. Then what?

Sending them back to their native countries would prove a colossal failure.

Most of America’s illegals come from neighboring Hispanic countries in Central and South America. Which means that as soon as they are deported, most of them cross the Mexican border again.

More importantly: The governments of those Central and South American countries use the United States as a dumping ground—of those citizens who might demand reforms in their political and economic institutions.

But there is one approach that could strike a meaningful blow against illegal immigration. It might well be called “The Zanti Option.”

Viewers of the 1960s sci-fi series, The Outer Limits, will vividly recall its classic 1963 episode, “The Zanti Misfits.”

A “Zanti”

The soldiers desperately fight back–-with flamethrowers, machineguns or just rifle butts. Finally the soldiers  win, wiping out the Zantis.

A Republican President could deal with the tsunami of illegal aliens by launching what might be called “Operation Zanti.”

Rather than deport them to countries in Central America—from which they would easily sneak back into the United States—the Federal Government could ship them off to more distant lands.

Like Afghanistan. Or Iraq. Or Syria.

It’s unlikely they would sneak back across the American border from the Middle East.

CLOSING THE REVOLVING MEXICAN DOOR: PART TWO (END)

Most of America’s 11 to 20 million illegal aliens come from neighboring Hispanic countries. Which means that as soon as they are deported, most of them cross the Mexican border again.

Case in point: Francisco Sanchez, now accused of shooting a woman on a San Francisco pier. With a history of seven felony convictions, he’s been deported to his native Mexico five times, most recently in 2009.
